E-Sports In The Olympics

Should It Be A Thing?

Gamers! Start training – an Olympic medal could be within reach.

Esports have decided to step towards being labeled as an Olympic event after being approved as an official medal event for 2022.

Is this okay? According to Fox Sports, the Olympic Council confirmed this week it would bring competitive video gaming to the 19th edition of the Games, which is sparking a ton of controversy and hooplah due to how nontraditional a non active sport is.

Over 30 countries and almost 10,0487 athletes are going to take part in the 2022 Games.

This is a massive step towards international consideration and there are currently  submitted requests to the IOC for information on how esports could become an Olympic event.

This is an industry that based of data from earlier this year  is believed to be worth over $1 billion.\
